My Approach:
Many clients come to me after talk therapy or traditional couples counselling hasn’t created the shifts they hoped for. I specialize in supporting individuals and couples who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in unwanted patterns of behaviour. I integrate RLT (Relational Life Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), and Gottman with a somatic approach to support change in your relational and nervous systems.
Relationships, including the one you have with yourself, are my passion. When we feel safe, seen, and connected in our relationships, we thrive. Feeling out of alignment or disconnected from ourselves or those we love, tends to create suffering. Often, we're at a loss as to how to fix things. I believe that in order to be the best version of ourselves and to have relationships that nourish us, we sometimes need to make changes and do things differently. The problem is we don't always know what we want or how to go about doing it.
As a therapist, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the natural resilience and inner direction we all carry. Chronic stress, trauma, and difficult life transitions can pull us away from that inner strength, leaving us feeling stuck or off-course. I believe we all need support to learn new skills and discover different options so that we can create the lives and relationships we yearn for. I will work with you to help you identify new possibilities and tap into hidden strengths you already have, all while helping you learn to navigate and manage your emotions and improve your relational skills. Together, we'll help you make your desired changes, and maintain them over the long term.
My Commitment to You:
Whether you're navigating grief, burnout, relationship stress, a life transition, or the aftermath of trauma, I’ll meet you with a compassionate, LGBTQ2S+ affirming and trauma-informed presence. I'll take an active role in helping you move toward your goals by offering you gentle challenges, new insights, and by teaching you new relational skills.
About Me:
In my former career as a teacher, I watched kids' sense of their own worth being chipped away because they didn't measure up to the impossible standards set by social media, or because they fell short of parental and school expectations, or because they simply had the courage to be different. Painfully, many of us carry these stories of inadequacy into adulthood, like an invisible cage built out of old beliefs that we're flawed, or not enough, or somehow behind. Having faced and wrestled with my own history, I know from personal experience that we can all be more than what we were taught is possible, no matter how old we are. My own experience of transformation at forty and therapy's role in it, is what led me to be so passionate about my role as a therapist. I'm committed to helping you find the door out of the cage and the freedom to stop shrinking yourself to fit an old story, instead growing into the person you've always sensed you could be.

Have you ever felt a prickle of irritation when your therapist asks, “How does that make you feel? Where do you feel that in your body?” If so, you’re not alone. Many people feel frustrated when therapy seems to focus on emotion instead of quickly “fixing the problem.” But from a somatic therapy perspective, emotions are not a distraction: they’re often the most direct pathway to healing, clarity, and lasting change. Although focusing on emotion may feel like a detour, it’s often the fastest way to understand why your feelings feel so distressing and what they are actually trying to…
