Our world has been turned upside down, and it is normal to feel out of control and experience feelings of despair and hopelessness. I am a warm, caring, compassionate counsellor, and offer a safe, nurturing environment, with encrypted video platforms. I am accepting new clients, and welcome your phone call.
I have a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from UVIC, and I have certified EMDR training. I work with individuals suffering from Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Self-Esteem, Anger, and Relationship issues. I will work with you to help you find a way through the barriers that are keeping you from being happy.
I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) over video, to help you move past trauma and pain. I will work with you to help you discover your internalized negative beliefs and help you create more adaptive positive beliefs.
I help you resolve any issues you may be facing, and I make sure you get the coping tools you need to move forward with your life.
I specialize in Self-Esteem, Anger, Shame, and Emotional Boundaries.
Self-Esteem focus includes: how do I build, strengthen, and maintain my self-esteem; how do I have unconditional self-esteem; what are the ways I give my power away; what are the ways I can communicate my feelings, needs and opinions; how can I understand my emotions; and how can I enable myself to pursue my dreams and goals.
Anger focus includes: how to recognize my thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours associated with anger; what are my areas of hidden anger; how can I communicate through my anger; and how can I recognize my triggers when my emotional boundaries are violated.
Shame focus includes: understanding my shame; how can I build my shame resilience; how can I recognize my shame triggers; what are my unwanted identities; and what do my shame screens look like?
Emotional Boundary focus includes: understanding what my emotional boundaries are; what are the differences between unclear, unhealthy, rigid, damaged and no boundaries; how do I learn boundaries; what are the consequences of my damaged boundaries; what are the guidelines for setting my boundaries; how do I develop healthy boundaries; how do I maintain my boundaries; how do I communicate my boundaries; and what do healthy boundaries look like for me?
I work with adults suffering from Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, Anger, Self-Esteem, Shame Resilience, Grief and Loss, and Relationship Issues.
I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Relationship therapies, and I have the following qualifications:
