You will receive a warm, kind, caring, compassionate, non-judgmental approach to counselling to empower you to move forward with your life, and to create a positive and compassionate belief about yourself, in order to appreciate your own unique sense of value and worth. I welcome the opportunity to work with you, to bring about the change you want to see in your life.
I help you create more positive self-talk about yourself, and to eliminate limiting beliefs that are keeping you stuck. I work with your internal dialogue and thinking processes that are affecting your behavior, so you can learn to recognize and change your self-defeating beliefs. I help you internalize the adaptive positive core belief, and desensitize and eliminate the negative belief that is robbing you of your happiness.

Specialty areas include:
Working with PTSD: addressing re-experiencing; recognizing and understanding avoidance and numbing maladaptive coping behaviors; how to calm hyper-arousal; how to shift negative beliefs and mood; how to gain emotion regulation; and how to create positive core belief systems.
Understanding Anxiety: how to calm the alarm; how anxiety manifests itself in the body; the anxiety loop; root causes of anxiety; and tools for how to relax during anxiety.
Creating Healthy Self-Esteem: how to build, strengthen, and maintain self-esteem; how to have unconditional self-esteem; understanding ways we give power away; how to communicate feelings, needs and opinions; how to understand emotions; and how to enable ourselves to pursue dreams and goals.
Healthy Eating Habits: when we feel good about ourselves, we do not feel the need to overeat. However, when we feel emotional and get triggered we can then develop unhealthy emotional eating habits to soothe the pain we are experiencing. It is difficult to change what we do not understand, therefore, it is really important to create a critical awareness around emotional eating habits, and know that you can do a complete reset with the right core beliefs. With understanding, you can empower yourself to reset emotional eating habits. There are different types of Emotional Eaters, and it is helpful to understand your habits and what is causing them, such as:
- Angry Eater
- Feelings Eater
- Destructive Eater
- Unaware Eater
- Habitual Eater
- Addictive Eater
Understanding and working with emotional eating habits and issues. There are also different reasons for why we carry excess weight, and it is helpful to understand these, such as:
- Defense Issues
- Control Issues
- Nursing old hurts
- Over Nurturing
- Self-indulgence
In order to gain a resemblance of control over our lives, we want to create emotional comfort with food, as it becomes the one thing we can control. However, this creates unhealthy emotionally triggered eating habits, especially if we have a vulnerability to turning to food for comfort.
Working Through Anger: how to recognize thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviors associated with anger; what are areas of hidden anger; how to communicate through anger; and how to recognize triggers when our emotional boundaries are violated.
Overcoming Toxic Shame: understanding shame; how to build shame resilience; how to recognize shame triggers; what are unwanted identities; and what do shame screens look like?
Wounded Emotional Boundaries: understanding what emotional boundaries are; what are the differences between unclear, unhealthy, rigid, damaged and no boundaries; how do we learn boundaries; what are the consequences of damaged boundaries; what are the guidelines for setting boundaries; how to develop healthy boundaries; how to maintain boundaries; how to communicate boundaries; and what do healthy boundaries look like?
