Welcome, I’m Zoe!
I work with people seeking freer self-expression, deeper authenticity, and calmer presence in life. The people I work with are often struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or life transitions. As an integrative therapist, we will work together to discover the therapeutic modalities that work best for you — you are awesomely unique, and your therapy should be the same!
My approach is focused on understanding the unique constellation of beliefs, values, needs, and challenges that make up you, your story, and your life today. Together, we will find the right mix of process and skills to help you arrive where you want to be. Drawing upon the unique mix of strengths that you bring to the world, we will work toward realizing your goals and intentions at the speed that's right for you — your life isn't linear, and your counselling shouldn't be either! If you need a slower process, or especially if you have experienced trauma, I also take steps to ensure you're feeling safe and comfortable throughout our work together, with regular check-ins and invitation for candid feedback.
In the realm of relationships, I welcome all forms and configurations. Whether you and your loved one(s) are looking to repair ruptures, freshen things up, or explore possibility for new stages – I can help! I primarily use the Gottman Method as my approach to relationship counselling, along with practical, solution-oriented techniques to introduce effective and doable change into your relationship starting with the first session.
I was inspired to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor through my own transformative experiences in the client’s chair, which shaped not only my relationship with myself, but also how I showed up for the world. Beyond my personal experience, I hold over ten years' experience in the field of mental health and wellness, having served in a variety of roles and positions before arriving where I sit today. Collectively, these experiences have provided me extensive insight into what works (and what doesn't) when it comes to the work.
As a queer cis-woman, I have the lived experience of navigating the nuances and complexities of our intersections, and the burdens (and possibilities!) that can accompany them. I am here to support your journey to reconnecting to your most authentic expression of self, whether that means coming out, navigating oppression/privilege, or learning to fully love who you are.
I know how hard it can be to show up to the first, second, or even tenth session, and so I promise to listen, get curious, and enthusiastically show up for you and your goals in counselling. You can use the "schedule an appointment" button below to quickly and easily set up a time to talk with me on the phone. I'm looking forward to connecting with you, and talking about how we can help you build more of the life you want for yourself!
