Tatiana is a certified clinical counselor registered with the Canadian Clinical and Psychotherapy Association (C.C.P.A). She has been in the counseling and helping profession for over 20 years and has expertise counseling youth and families in numerous settings including government, community, schools and hospitals. Tatiana provides counseling to individuals, youth, parents and families facing mental illnesses including anxiety, major depression, mood difficulties and psychosis. She also provides counseling for interpersonal difficulties/family conflict, low self-esteem, victimization and past trauma and/or abuse.
Tatiana has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, which she obtained at the University of Victoria. Tatiana is committed to continual growth both as a person and a counselor. She has trained at the Justice Institute of BC, UBC Continuing Education and attended numerous training opportunities with Fraser Health including Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI), motivational interviewing, SANYAS Indigenous training, self- harm education and suicide prevention. Tatiana takes a culturally sensitive approach and is trained in and familiar with Indigenous areas of practice.
Tatiana is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which helps clients utilize mindfulness to deal with intense emotions effectively. She is also trained in Cognitive Therapy Behavior (CBT) techniques including relaxation, challenging negative thinking and problem solving. Tatiana has experience in conflict resolution, solution focused therapy and motivational interviewing. Tatiana provides counseling in a trauma informed manner and is trained in trauma therapy including Traumatic Incident Reduction ( TIR) therapy. She is familiar with body orientated therapies including Observed Experiential Integration (OEI) and narrative techniques. Tatiana relies on these counseling approaches as they offer effective solutions and tools to life’s challenges including improving overall mental health.
