Tannis Hugill

I am a Dance-movement and Drama Therapist, BC Clinical Counsellor and Spiritual Director with an MA in Somatic Psychology. I bring over thirty-five years of experience to my work with individuals, groups, adolescents and adults, especially those with eating problems, and trauma. I am also trained in body - oriented trauma therapy for shock trauma and developmental trauma.

Dance-movement Therapy connects our minds and bodies, Drama Therapy helps understand the roles we play in our lives, and Spiritual Direction helps us be compassionate towards ourselves and others.

In addition to individual therapy, I teach workshops in Authentic Movement, Moving Prayer and Ecstatic Body Postures. Professional development training workshops are also available.  I also teach Dance-movement Therapy courses through West Coast Dance Movement Therapy.

I believe in the vital creativity of the human spirit, which guides us towards our highest good. In the collaborative process of therapy, I offer a gentle, supportive presence assisting each person to listen to their bodies, discover needs underlying life’s challenges and find the path to resolution and transformation.
