Hello and welcome!  If you are reading my personal statement you have taken that first step to reach out for help or support. For some of you this first step might have been easy, for many others starting the search took some time.  And choosing a counsellor by having a brief conversation is next.  I start the counseling process exactly where you are. Using a style that is usually collaborative and gentle, but can switch to utilizing humour and challenge if that works better for you.

Taking that next step and reaching out for help can be difficult but counselling can help.  Counselling can increase your understanding of the problem, help you explore your feelings and possible routes for action and change. Clients often ask about “a specialty” or an area of expertise. My specialty is working with people and their relationship (with themselves and others) regardless of the presenting issue. I am happy to chat in more detail about how I practice, and what counselling with me, looks and feels like. 

I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology with  over 16 years of experience as a counsellor and 30 years of experience in the helping profession. The first session is usually 1.25 hours (fee is the 50 minute rate) which provides a little more time for assessment and your questions. Follow-up sessions are arranged depending on your needs.
