I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Counselling Degree from City University of Seattle. My previous education and experience was in medicine (M.D. from Kuban State Medical University in Russia with a specialized training in Cardiology).
I work with individuals (adults and adolescents), couples and families.
My counseling approach is based on humanistic and existential theories with a specific and passionate interest in authentic relationships, intimacy, human potential, personal growth and fulfillment in life. I believe that the experience of being satisfied with life is related to the quality of our awareness of ourselves and the surrounding world. The more aware are we, the deeper and more meaningful our connection with ourselves and people around us becomes. Counselling can help us to deepen this awareness leading to better choices and a more fulfilling life.
The process of getting more in touch with our needs, wants, interests, wishes and hopes happens most successfully within the realm of a therapeutic relationship that is built on the therapist’s presence, authenticity and responsiveness. My interest is to be with you as fully present as I can to provide the optimum conditions for your self-discovery and growth.
I have experience of working with persons experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, loss, parenting difficulties, loss of partnership within a couple, divorce, single parenting and those struggling with immigration and adaptation. I am also interested in working with people seeking more intimate relationships with their partners, authenticity, inner growth, and creativity.
I have been a participant at Gestalt Associates Training Los Angeles since 2008 and I’m a certified Gestalt therapist. I have regular meetings with qualified professionals for individual and group supervision.
I offer counselling in two languages: English or Russian.
