Sue Diamond, M.A. is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#178) and the Director/Founder of The Good Life Therapy Centre. She has over 30 years of experience in the counseling field in a multitude of settings, including the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. She and her staff of Associates are highly trained to help you stay focused on meeting your therapeutic goals.
Sue believes it is important that therapists 'walk the walk' and by doing so, can be a living example of how you can overcome current difficulties and create an amazing life, which for most people includes close, loving relationships. Most people have a vision of how they want their life to be but are not able to get there on their own. If you are struggling with an addiction problem or are having difficulties in your primary relationships, then I and my staff are here to help. Addiction problems or unresolved trauma will affect you as an individual but will also erode away or destroy your relationships. I help clients who have trouble expressing and managing their emotions, especially following a significant trauma or loss, like infidelity, anxiety or depression. All of these core issues may have their origins in your past and at the same time, be alive and active in your present life.
I have a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing that the mind, emotions, and body are never separate. I will work collaboratively with you to identify and reach your life goals so that you can enjoy a life that is happy, joyous, and free from pain. My training is extensive with some of the top leaders in the field of addictions and couples therapy and I utilize this training to offer you the most current and effective treatment techniques. As someone who grew up with and was personally affected by addiction and trauma, I have a unique perspective on both what you are facing and how you can overcome your legacy.
It takes courage to embark on the healing journey, but the benefits are excellent! I believe you can live the life of your dreams if you are willing to put in the work. Current research in interpersonal neurobiology explains why none of us can reach our goals on our own. The good news is, you don’t have to. Help is just a call away. Invest in your emotional well-being today by reaching out for help. Together we can explore how you (and your partner) can strive to be the best version of yourselves.
