Welcome to a compassionate collaborative space for healing and self-discovery!
I understand the intensity and challenge of healing from adverse experiences and trauma. As a queer person, a disaffiliate of conservative evangelicalism, a career shifter, and a childhood trauma survivor, I am all too familiar with the fears, grief and loss, confusion, and pain that come with those experiences.
Through counselling, my fears transformed into courage. The grief and loss evolved into hopefulness, the confusion transformed into clarity, and the pain metamorphosed into strength. I believe everyone can experience the same.
Pain, trauma, grief, and other issues are viewed through a lens of compassionate inquiry and acceptance so that they can be witnessed and understood more deeply. I understand my role as a compassionate witness and a warm, empathetic presence, co-creating an authentic and transparent connection that feels safe and open for clients to truly come as they are. I do not believe we have bad parts, just protective and managerial parts that have taken control for good reasons. Understanding these parts, learning to recognize them when they want to lead, and offering them compassionate care leads to their softening, which then helps clients lead their lives from a more authentic and empowered place.
I practice with the belief that as compassion for our experiences and the Self grows, resistance to healing and change softens. We are then more likely to navigate through life with a sense of worthiness, making values-based decisions with greater confidence. This propels us forward into more attuned and authentic ways of being with ourselves others, and the world as a whole.
