Working with a counsellor can help support you through the challenges of life and can help reveal opportunities for making positive changes. It's a collaborative process that can often lead to improved moods, better emotional regulation, improved relationships, stronger resilience, and improvements in the view we have of ourselves and others around us.
In my clinical practice I work with adults experiencing stress and anxiety, workplace stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and those interested in finding higher purpose and fulfillment. My clinical work is currently being influenced by cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, mindfulness based stress reduction, and somatic therapy. In full transparency, there is little evidence that one approach is significantly better than the next but I would be happy to share with you why I have found these particularly effective.
I have an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia and a master degree in clinical counselling from City University of Seattle. Prior to clinical counselling I worked in the corporate world as a CEO of a $2m start up and as a VP for a $7B company that traded on the London Stock Exchange. I have also spent some time in the arts working as a professional actor in Vancouver, NY, and London.
I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a current member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
I believe that you have the strength, abilities, and experience to make the changes that you want in your life. I believe in your abilities to make improvements. I am here to help you with the changes that you want to make.
