About Mia
Do you find your nervous system always seems to feel “on,” holding tension you can’t seem to shake? Maybe, you find yourself slipping into restriction, rules, or perfectionism as a way of navigating overwhelm or stress. Or perhaps, you're starting to recognize familiar loops - the same thoughts, fears, habits - but breaking them just seems to be impossible. If you're finding any familiarity in this, I see you. You're not alone.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a clinical nutritionist in outpatient eating‑disorder recovery care. There, I learned how my lived experience could be a meaningful point of connection with clients. I worked with integrative healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care, but I noticed it was the side‑by‑side work - the relearning of grocery shopping, cooking, baking, tuning into our body’s signals, and navigating meal support sessions - where I truly came to know my clients, and where they came to know themselves. These threads continue to shape my mind‑body approach in the therapy room, where evidence‑based practices meet the complexity of your story and the wisdom of your body.
While a large part of my work focuses on anxiety, disordered eating, and body image, my practice extends beyond that. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, sensory processing differences, or feeling stuck or disconnected in your relationship with yourself, therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what's beneath the surface, and reconnect with yourself. Together, we make space for the tender, the complex, the unknown, and the hard - always moving at a pace that feels right for you. My practice is trauma‑informed and neuro‑affirming, rooted in the belief that you are human beyond and within any diagnosis or label, and that your lived experience deserves to be met with respect, curiosity, and care.
Your story matters. Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to navigate it alone. If you’re curious about what working together could look like, I offer free 15‑minute virtual consultations so we can connect and explore your questions. Sessions are offered online across British Columbia.
