My name is Maxine (she/her/hers). I am a certified EMDR Therapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor. I use EMDR therapy to help individuals working through trauma related issues such as PTSD, sexual assault, adverse life experiences, unresolved childhood issues (in adulthood), chronic stress, anxiety and depression.
Over the years, I have worked in a variety of government and non-profit settings supporting youth and their families in areas such as mental health, addictions, developmental trauma, and parent-teen conflict. My approach is integrative, drawing from EMDR Therapy, mindful and somatic approaches, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
Ultimately, I am guided by your individual needs so our work together will incorporate a blend of modalities in response to what feels right for you. My intention is to create brave spaces which are respectful, insightful and collaborative to support you on your healing journey so deep, fundamental transformation can occur.
I offer daytime and evening appointments.
For new clients, I offer a 20-minute introductory phone consultation at no charge to help you see if we’re a good fit.
I look forward to hearing from you.
