Hello! My name is Mafe Boucher, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor who sees clients at the Skylark office located in Vancouver, BC. 

My past experience has focused primarily on working with emerging adults, international students, and youth adjusting to new expectations, experiences, and roles. I work very closely with feelings of uncertainty, aimlessness, anxiety, loss, and adjustment. Within my practice, I utilize Narrative therapy and incorporate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Client-Centered Therapy. 

I would describe my style as gentle, warm, and curious with a trauma-informed approach. I also take a multicultural approach as I believe the cultures we live in and our identities play a large part in who we are and can provide insight into the systemic structures that impact our struggles. I view counselling as a space to experience any and all emotions; together, we will feel all the natural tribulations of life and, when possible, bring in some joy of laughter.

To use a metaphor, I fully recognize that I will never “walk a mile in your shoes,” but I will walk beside you to support you in any way possible. My main goal in working together is to build a safe and trusting relationship where we can investigate and understand the struggles that encouraged you to seek counselling. I believe that we are all resilient beings and in counselling, we will open space to reveal your innate wisdom, discover ways to build on your strengths, and pursue a life filled with authenticity, self-compassion, and meaning.
