Practice Information
I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor who believes therapy should feel less like an interrogation and more like a real, meaningful conversation. Clients have commented on my casual demeanor which I believe helps to create a comfortable atmosphere for therapy. I am known to use humor and sarcasm as counselling can be something on your 'to do' list that you look forward to. I will make every effort to make you feel at ease so you can show up exactly as you are...messy thoughts, big feelings, dark humour and all.
I’m not here to “fix” you (because you’re not broken) or tell you how you should feel. Instead, we work together to understand what’s going on beneath the surface and figure out what actually helps you feel better in real life, not just in theory.
I work with teens and adults struggling with a variety of challenges such as addiction, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, substance use, self-harm, body image and self-esteem related concerns.
My specialized areas include reproductive mental health as well as substance use/addiction.
Reproductive mental health can bring up complex emotions and whether you’re navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy and postpartum changes, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, abortion, parenthood transitions, or identity shifts related to your reproductive journey, therapy can be a place where all of those feelings are welcome without judgment or pressure to “stay strong.”
In my work with addiction, I take a compassionate, stigma-free approach that recognizes substance use and addictive behaviours as coping strategies that made sense at some point, even if they’re no longer serving you. Together, we explore the emotional roots, patterns, and triggers involved while building healthier, more sustainable ways to cope, reconnect, and regain a sense of control.
Therapy with me is a mix of reflection and practicality—we’ll talk about your past and your patterns, but we’ll also focus on tools you can actually use when life gets hard (because insight is great, but coping skills are kind of essential). I aim to create a space where you can be honest without fear of being judged and where you don’t have to filter yourself or have everything figured out.
