Practice Information

Is your child or teen feeling anxious, sad, overwhelmed, or not quite like themselves anymore? Many parents describe their child as stuck in constant cycles of worry, overthinking, and second-guessing themselves, even around things that once felt manageable. You might notice them pulling away from activities or friends they used to enjoy, or pushing through the day while feeling exhausted underneath.

I am a Registered Psychologist with extensive experience working with adolescents and families in hospital and private practice settings. This background has shaped a deep understanding of anxiety, mood challenges, emotional regulation, and the pressures young people face today. I have developed and run CBT-based depression and anxiety groups for children and youth at various hospitals throughout Canada. In my individual sessions with your child, I would use principles and techniques from these groups and tailor them specifically to your teen in a supportive, flexible 1-1 setting.

My approach is delivered in a warm, collaborative way. I use therapies proven by research to work (e.g., CBT and DBT), tailoring sessions to each teen’s unique personality, interests, and needs. I also offer parent consultation sessions to help families reduce conflict and strengthen closeness and connection.  I recognize that it can sometimes be hard to open up and share personal information with a therapist. For this reason, I strive to create a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental space where children, teens, and their parents can feel comfortable being truly themselves.

I have developed and run depression and anxiety groups for teenagers at various hospitals throughout Canada. In my individual sessions with your teen, I would use principles and techniques from these groups and tailor them specifically to your teen in a supportive, flexible 1-1 setting. I also adapt these approaches in a playful and developmentally appropriate way for 1-1 work younger kids, drawing on play- and art-based activities to make the concepts come to life.

I offer assessment and therapy support for children and adolescents navigating:

  • Depression or low mood
  • Emotion regulation difficulties
  • Low self-esteem
  • School avoidance
  • Sleep challenges
  • OCD
  • Health- or medical-related fears
