Dr. Nourani is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. He has more than two decades of experience in the field of mental health. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Toronto, in 1998.
Dr. Nourani brings his many years of experience with individuals, couples and families together with his supportive, compassionate, warm and trusting manner to the counselling relationship. He assists his clients to identify the sources of stress, dissatisfaction, challenges and conflicts in their personal and family lives and work toward finding resolutions.
Dr. Nourani has extensive experience in dealing with a wide variety of mental health issues and problems including anxiety, depression, obsession, anger, stress and burnout, self-esteem, assertiveness, relationship problems, family conflicts, parenting skills, life transitions and adjustment difficulties, and traumatic experiences resulted from car accidents or other events.
Dr. Nourani uses a variety of counselling approaches such as cognitive-behavioral, brief therapy, existential and humanistic approaches and relaxation therapy. He customizes his treatment for the particular needs of the individual clients. In order to maximize the treatment effectiveness, he also provides reading materials and handouts that are supplementary to the issues covered in each treatment session.
Dr. Nourani’s goal and passion is to help his clients achieve inner peace, contentment, and mental mastery and build meaningful relationships.
