*Exclusively Online Therapy* I am a compassionate listener who is trained to recognize details that may perpetuate unrest. I am here to help you find genuine, true peace in your life, which is why I named my practice True Peace Counselling. So often we are living a life where there are undercurrents of turmoil, and we end up not being true to ourselves. This creates undue stress and discomfort, sometimes manifesting in depressive symptoms, anxious tendencies, or excess stress and exhaustion. Finding true peace does not mean that we never experience stress or discomfort, but it means that we are living a life that is true to who we are, and it makes weathering the ups and downs of life much more manageable. I deeply care about creating genuine therapeutic relationships with those who reach out for help. My goal is to empower my clients by providing a safe space where they are heard, validated, and cared for.
I use an integrative approach to therapy - meaning I use different modalities to depending on which approach will best suit the client. I am naturally drawn to the Internal Family Systems approach, as it does an excellent job of addressing many issues, and many people relate to it easily. I also draw from more directive approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, which provide the client with hands-on worksheets to help make lasting changes in their life. As we work together, we will determine what you find most effective, and we will customize the therapy so you receive the care you deserve.
I hold a Master of Art's Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, which means that I adhere to a strict code of ethics. The BCACC's code of ethics inspires trust. It is important that you trust your counsellor because your mental health deserves the highest quality of care.
If you are considering seeing a counsellor, I'd like to encourage you. It takes courage to do something out of your comfort zone; to seek out change, even if you suspect that such change will improve your life. You are courageous, and I am honored if you have considered including me in your counselling journey. I offer a free 20-minute consultation to prospective clients, which you can book today through my website. I look forward to meeting you.
