Ian has over 25 years of education, training, and experience in counselling and therapy. He works together with clients to help them explore relationships, thoughts, feelings, or behaviours, which trouble them and cause difficulty and suffering in their life. Clients can achieve deeper personal insight and awareness, better ways of understanding and coping with problems, increased feelings of well-being, and improved relationships and life satisfaction. Many aspects of an issue may be outside of conscious awareness, and therapy can help uncover the unconscious material. Using a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, Ian has a proven, excellent rate of success overall in helping his clients.
Ian holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology. He is a member of the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors (No. 2648), and Psi Chi - the national honour society in psychology for high academic achievement. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Ian is listed in the B.C. government's Community Healthcare and Resource Directory, CHARD, which is used by medical doctor's to make patient referrals to other health care professionals. He has appeared in the media, for example, on CBC television to discuss marriage and relationships, and on CKNW radio to talk about clinical depression and professional burnout.
Please contact Ian if you would like to talk about your situation and how he will help you. This can be done via telephone, Facetime, Google meet, Skype, Doxy.me, or in-person.
