Hi, I’m Heather Awad, MCP, RCC. With 18 years of counselling experience across Canada, Egypt, and The Netherlands, I support individuals and couples who may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, or simply unlike themselves.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and directive. I believe therapy should be more than having someone listen to you, it's to help you understand yourself, recognize the patterns that are keeping you stuck, and know what to do differently. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. That’s part of what we can work through together.
I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and major life transitions, with a particular focus on reproductive mental health, including pregnancy, postpartum depression, and postpartum anxiety.
Whether you’re struggling with persistent worry, feeling emotionally depleted, navigating relationship difficulties, or trying to find your footing after a major life change, we’ll work together to create clarity and meaningful change. I provide practical tools and an action-oriented approach that you can carry beyond the therapy room.
My goal isn’t to “fix” you or erase difficult experiences. It’s to help you understand what has shaped you, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself and the people who matter to you.
If something in you is saying, “I can’t keep doing this alone,” that may be enough reason to reach out. You don’t have to wait until things become unbearable before seeking support.
Virtual counselling is available in English and Arabic.
I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation to explore what you’re looking for and whether we may be a good fit.
