Gary is skilled at supporting clients untangle themselves from anxiety, stress, depression, anger, grief, low self-esteem, interpersonal conflict, life transitions, autism, ADHD, and trauma. He also helps couples address issues regarding communication, parenting, affairs and premarital counselling.
Gary is effective at utilizing evidence-based therapeutic frameworks to offer a holistic approach to healing. Such frameworks include Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP), Existential Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Mindfulness-Based practices. He uses these frameworks to help clients understand how their earlier experiences have influenced their patterns and to access the feelings underneath our defensive reactions in order to consciously direct the process of change. Gary has advanced training in Somatic Therapy, which helps clients with symptoms of posttraumatic stress to release the stored trauma trapped in the body.
