Gwen Bevan has been counselling individuals, couples and families for over 22 years. In addition to providing counselling, Gwen provides clinical supervision for Oak Counselling Services as well as for private therapists. Gwen has been a consultatnt for the Globe and Mail, CKNW radio and for a provincial integrated school-linked services project for children and youth at risk. Gwen has presented at various conferences and workshops and is committed to exploring current research and techniques for healing. She has a Masters in Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker.
Gwen takes a feminist approach providing a nurturing and supportive environment to assist in the healing from trauma, abuse, grief and loss, anxiety, relationship, adoption, post-abortion and other related issues. She works with her clients to find effective therapeutic methods such as: art work, solution-focused therapy, family therapy, family of origin work and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is also a certified yoga instructor and incorporates body work and yoga into her sessions. Gwen practices in a comfortable setting which includes a play therapy room and space for all ages to do creative healing work.
