From my many years of working in coaching and recruitment and having hundreds of conversations with people in the corporate world, I know the pressure working professionals face, where work issues can lead to problems at home, or vice versa. Questions like: Can I meet expectations? Is this job what I want to be doing? are common, which can lead to (or be impacted by) a multitude of personal struggles: Why do I feel so disconnected to my spouse? Why is there no more joy in my life? My background brings a combination of experience and education in the fields of HR and coaching, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC, after completing my Masters in Counselling Psychology.
I have significant experience in career development. I have helped countless working professionals with their career decisions and transitions. I see this work as an opportunity to really help people get clear on who they are, what they really want, and how to get there. When was the last time you considered the following questions: What are my values? What matters to me? What am I best at doing?
As parents move through their own job/career successes and challenges and recognize just how competitive the marketplace truly is, they can become hyper-aware to their child's future. Are you worried that your child may not be fully prepared for the future? Are you concerned that they aren’t motivated? Are you seeing behaviours that are concerning you?
Children too are feeling the pressure of that future market and where they will sit in all of it. This is making them feel not only anxious, but at times even depressed with the weight of it all. I also work with youth and young adults in their high school or post-secondary years. In my work as a coach, I have taken many people, including young adults, through a structured process, with appropriate assessments, to determine a vision for their future career and how they can create a strategic plan to move towards it. The secondary and post-secondary schools are having difficulty meeting the needs of of every individual student and their career confusion. In experiencing my own children’s anxiety while considering career, I have a passion for this work.
Stress/anxiety is also increasing in our culture and I want to assist with finding solutions. I currently work with individuals around relationship difficulties and how stress impacts the family, relationships and personal well-being. I use a solution-focused and positive approach to address conflicts and manage burnout. I have coached many individuals via phone and/or skype and offer these modalities for your convenience and anonymity.
You will learn to apply strategies to manage your stress, set solid goals/action plans, find more "connection" in your relationships, and develop self-compassion. I hope that during our time together we can uncover all of the strengths, motivation and perseverance which lie within you! I would love to assist you in finding clarity with all of it!
