Practice Information

Carolynn Turner, MA, RCC, CCC, is the Founder and Clinical Director of Lavender Counselling, a group psychotherapy practice with offices in Langley and Vancouver, BC, as well as online counselling across British Columbia. She founded the practice in 2012 as a solo clinician and has grown it into a team of Registered Clinical Counsellors supporting adults, teens, children, couples, and families.

Carolynn holds an MA in Counselling Psychology from UBC and has spent more than 20 years in the helping professions. Before counselling, she completed a Bachelor of Education at UBC and taught high school English for eleven years. During her graduate studies she worked in the research lab of the former President of Anxiety Canada and conducted her own research on social anxiety in adolescents.

Her clinical work is trauma-informed, relational, and person-centred. She trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy directly with Dr. Les Greenberg, the primary developer of EFT, and holds Basic Certification in EMDR. She works with a broad range of concerns including PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, traumatic grief, postpartum transition, self-esteem, and emotion regulation, and is a specialist in therapeutic group work.

Please note: Carolynn is not currently accepting new individual clients and does not maintain a waitlist. She is currently available for:

Clinical supervision and consultation. Carolynn is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) with BCACC and a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) with CCPA, and has provided supervision to registered and pre-registered counsellors for close to ten years, including supervision of supervision. She has served on the BCACC Board as VP and as Chair for Region 5.

Consent agreement support. She supports counsellors navigating the consent agreement and complaints process with their professional association.

Group therapy. She is part of the Program Development and Clinical Teams for Wounded Warriors Canada, where she co-developed the Spouses' Resiliency Program and the Surviving Families' Program, and delivers group programs including COPE and the Trauma Resiliency Program.
