I help people who feel stuck. I help people who are angry and overwhelmed. I help people who are afraid of change, afraid of making the wrong decision and afraid that they might not be good enough.
I help couples communicate clearly. I help the silent partner find his/her voice as well as helping the talkative partner find the patience to listen attentively. I help partners, siblings, friends and co-workers address conflict and re-connect. I help parents parent effectively. I help people understand and manage their anger, address their depression, grieve their losses and face their anxiety so that they can move on toward reaching their full potential
I help people navigate life transitions such as divorce, death, infertility, relocation, career change or job loss. No matter what the problem, I can help people step into their confidence, set desired goals and begin taking the necessary steps to live happier lives.
Simply put I help people manage their lives.
And, I can help you.
I work with functioning clients from diverse backgrounds who for one reason or another find themselves stuck in life or confused by their ingrained beliefs.
I also have a business background - I worked in business and marketing for 8 years prior to pursuing a graduate degree in Counselling Psychology. I understand the complexities that clients face with work-life issues. I am skilled in dealing with human behaviour in the workplace and I help many workplaces resolve workplace issues.
** I also help counsellors/therapists and other professionals launch their careers**
Many of my clients are professionals, executives, managers, entrepreneurs and artists or they are the adult children of professionals. Issues including perfectionism and unrealistic expectations in these families can be left unresolved for generations.
I am a solution-focused therapist (i.e. results oriented therapist). I am client-centered, skilled in numerous approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ( CBT). I am a life coach, and highly trained in dealing with anger and anxiety issues as well as life, career and separation & divorce transitions.
I have a graduate degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia (1992). I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor ( #941) and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional. I am a trained Separation and Divorce Coach.
My warm professional demeanor along with my sense of humour compliment my skill-set and years of professional experience which put my clients at ease so that they can tap into the heart of their issue. With new insight, my clients often leave the first session with hope and optimism to change for the better.
