Does your mind race, are you up in your head a lot, or do you lack motivation and struggle to realize your goals? Have you found success in your career or in the family but find life unsatisfying. Do you find you are perfectionistic or overly critical of yourself and others? I have a good idea why and I have the experience and the training to help you to get at the root of the issue.
Hi. I am Christian. I have a Masters of Arts from the University of British Columbia and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I have also worked as a Clinical Coordinator supervising other counsellors before entering into private practice full-time.
To assist in your personal growth, I am trained in a wide variety of therapeutic approaches including: AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) I am also well versed in Mindfulness based interventions as I have a daily 1 hour meditation practice. I have extensive experience working with all populations including adults, parents and youth.
Using one or a combinations of therapies, I can help you to get back to a place of greater connectedness to yourself and others. My goal is to help you become more self-reliant and to live your life more authentically.
AEDP is a cutting edge therapy that is growing rapidly around the world because of its effectiveness in healing; it is a gentle and precise therapy that achieves permanent results quickly. Mindfulness is an important therapeutic intervention because it helps us to live in the present when so much of our suffering is about anticipating the future or regretting the past. EMDR is an effective intervention to deal with PTSD, trauma, phobias, or any other difficult to access places from the past.
Who am I? I have 2 children and I have been in a loving relationship for over 25 years. I volunteer as a meditation instructor and assist in writing meditation curriculum. I love excercise. I cycle-commute. I try to fix my bike. I run and ski. And I am passionate about gardening, astronomy, travelling and studying meditation philosophy. I receive ongoing supervision for continued professional development.
Please contact me if you want to get to work immediately or to set up a free, 20 minute phone call to see if we can work well together.
