Safety...self care...solutions.... These can absolutely jumpstart your change. The rapport between you and your counsellor is tremendously important in consolidating these three. I call them "the trifecta" of therapy. :o) Moreover, the safety of this therapeutic partnership will be core in your problem-solving.
With this in mind, I will make every effort to forge a safe working partnership with you. Your needs and achieving your objectives are the focus, with your core values at the centre. As you feel ready, we’ll explore personal care, identity, development, life changes, trauma ... uncovering the decisions and actions these may require of you.
My clients have ranged in age from 17 to 95 (yes, you read that right -- it's never too late!) I also see couples. Blending specific creative with traditional methods of therapy -- along with laughter! -- has seemed the most valuable mix for people in transition.
Self care, self compassion, school and employment-related issues (fyi First Responders/Public Safety Personnel -- I am BCPFFA endorsed), grief, emotional insight, relationship (in all its forms), cross-cultural empathy, and desired changes unique to your circumstances, can be addressed. Together, our purpose is to find workable solutions that will enhance your life.
