Practice Information
Hi, I'm Alejandra.
Thank you for stopping by.
Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and whether you're navigating a difficult season, carrying the weight of past experiences, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to do it alone.
I'm Alejandra Zibes (she/her), a bilingual (Spanish/English) Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals through life's challenges and transitions. I am also an instructor at Adler University, a Certified EMDR Therapist, and a Certified Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Practitioner.
I integrate approaches such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic and body-based practices, tailoring our work to your needs, goals, and pace. And under Specialized Training:
- Certified EMDR Therapist
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Certified Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Practitioner
I support adults experiencing:
- Anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and burnout
- Depression and mood-related concerns
- Trauma and difficult or overwhelming life experiences
- Life transitions, major changes, and identity shifts
- Relationship and family challenges
- Grief, loss, and emotional healing
- Immigration, acculturation, and settlement experiences
- Fertility, pregnancy, and reproductive journeys
- Challenges with self-worth, confidence, belonging, and boundaries
- Feeling stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about your direction
- Navigating multiple roles and responsibilities
- Searching for greater meaning, purpose, and fulfillment
I have a particular interest in supporting women navigating transitions and reclaiming their voice, boundaries, freedom, and sense of self—especially when years of caring for others have made it difficult to hear their own needs and desires.
My work is grounded in an anti-oppressive, culturally responsive, and holistic perspective. I recognize that our wellbeing is shaped by far more than our individual thoughts and behaviours. Our relationships, families, cultures, histories, communities, and the systems we live within all influence how we experience ourselves and the world.
You may not be able to change what has happened to you, but you don’t have to remain defined by it or feel stuck in the same story. Together, we can explore new ways of understanding and making meaning of your experiences, honour what you have been through, and create space for new possibilities. My hope is to support you in moving forward with greater clarity, connection, and a deeper sense of who you are and what matters to you.
Therapy can be a place to pause, breathe, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and reconnect with the person you are becoming.
If something in this profile resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. We can begin with a complimentary 15-minute consultation to see whether working together feels like a good fit!
You might be here because you:
- Feel like you’ve lost touch with yourself while taking care of everyone else
- Keep repeating patterns you understand intellectually but struggle to change
- Feel stuck in the past or find yourself replaying old experiences
- Are going through a transition and aren’t sure who you are on the other side of it
- Have achieved many of the things you thought would make you happy but still feel unfulfilled
- Want to understand yourself more deeply rather than simply manage your symptoms
- Are ready to move beyond survival and begin creating a life that feels more meaningful and aligned
In our sessions, you won’t be expected to have the “right” answers or know exactly where to begin. I will meet you where you are, listen deeply, and work collaboratively with you to understand what is happening beneath the surface. Depending on your needs, we may use conversation, EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, or body-based approaches to help you develop greater insight, emotional regulation, and a stronger connection with yourself.
