Practice Information

One of the most noble pursuits an individual can have is to strive to lead a meaningful and purposeful life. This can be an extremely difficult task, both in terms of determining what this personally means and then figuring out how to get there. When we feel stuck and overwhelmed, other negative and self-limiting states also take shape including anxiety and depression, leaving us full of bad habits and desperate for change. In the therapeutic work with Andrew, the aim is to uncover the root causes that inhibit fulfillment and to further apply practical strategies that will permit change and foster personal growth.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a joint major in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. In 2013 he continued with his formal education in Psychology and graduated with distinction with a Masters in Applied Psychology from the University in Liverpool. This was then further complemented with Clinical Counselling Masters level coursework from Yorkville University last year. He has also attained multiple financial designations and certificates, including notably having become a Canadian Certified Investment Manager and Registered Investment Specialist.

Andrew was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. and he is the oldest of four boys. He has always enjoyed travelling and has spent extended periods of time in Spain, the U.K, Mexico and Colombia. He has taught a number of courses at the university level including International Business and Behavioural Finance. Andrew uses a number of methodological practices in his therapeutic work including Psychoanalysis and Humanistic Existentialism. He is currently in the process of studying a Masters in Theology.

My primary clinical areas of practice include personal growth, career and professional counselling in Behavioural Financial and Investment Management and the exploration of meaning and purpose within the field of Existential and Humanistic psychology. I have an extensive background in working with adults as they explore career paths including entrepreneurial ventures and business opportunities. I also have a history of working with people struggling with negative emotions and daily life struggles including anxiety and depression. This is accomplished through an examination of these specific mental health symptoms as well as an inquiry into the individual’s relationships, work and education situation including hobbies and rest patterns.

It is my aim to identify the specific mechanisms that are causing you harm in order to begin the healing process. This therapeutic process involves determining the most relatable and optimal actionable steps needed in order to alleviate the mental anguish, distress and physical pain that you may be experiencing.

I also work with those struggling with addiction, stress management and burnout and can personally relate to the suffering that occurs from these conditions to oneself and others.

Through the development of strategies related to lifestyle, behaviour analysis, coping strategies and effective time management approaches these mental conditions can be alleviated. I additionally work with those having difficulties in relationships both professional and romantic. Finally, I also offer faith based counselling and I am a Registered Professional Catholic Psychotherapist.
