- Life can be overwhelming sometimes. Whether you're having a hard time navigating family relationships, issues with your partner or friends, or work related issues, you may find yourself feeling alone or unsupported. Sometimes it's hard for loved ones to understand what we're going through, despite how much they care about us. You may find yourself wondering why you are the way you are, having a hard time understanding your emotions, or wish to experience more joy in life. Your life may appear to be okay on the outside, but on the inside, you may feel like something isn't right. You wish things could be different, but you're not sure where to start or how to make a change.
- I understand how difficult it can be to carry an invisible burden inside. Often, burdens from the past can keep us from living life more fully in the present. My hope for you as a client is to start to feel lighter and more joyful, as you make peace with the past and your inner self. My approach to therapy uses a combination of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Self-Compassion, and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). These methods together offer a powerful toolkit for addressing a wide range of emotional challenges. I have found that EMDR is especially helpful in allowing your mind and body to naturally release the emotions and thoughts keeping you stuck. This can often happen without needing to revisit painful memories in detail, which gives you the freedom to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable sharing, while still experiencing the healing necessary. An expected outcome of EMDR is: feeling lighter, less burdened, and better able to assert yourself and navigate your world in an authentic way.
- My approach to therapy is best suited for individuals (ages 19+) experiencing issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief, loss, life transitions, stress, burnout, spirituality, work, loneliness, communication and relationships.
