Practice Information
I am passionate about working with children, youth, young adults and their families to help them understand and cope with a variety of concerns. I received my Ph.D. in School and Clinical-Child Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed my residency out here in beautiful British Columbia with Child and Youth Mental Health in the Ministry of Child and Family Development in 2007.
I am currently conducting psycho-educational assessments for children, youth, and young adults. These assessments can result in the diagnoses of a specific learning disability, ADHD, and/or mental health concerns. Coming from a school and clinical psychology program, I have always been passionate about helping schools and families understand children’s unique learning needs so they can be given the most appropriate support possible. I take a holistic approach to my assessments and provide feedback and recommendations that are not just for school, but for home and social settings as well. Psycho-educational assessments are conducted out of our Langley office.
For therapy, I use scientifically-supported treatments to address a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. I focus primarily on the relationship, not just between myself and my clients, but between children, youth, young adults and their parents. For treatments, I draw on a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and incorporate tools offered by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).
