Practice Information
I believe healing begins when people feel genuinely understood rather than judged. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic space where you can explore life's challenges, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change. I recognize that reaching out for therapy can be one of the hardest steps, particularly when you've been carrying emotional pain for a long time. I strive to make that first step as comfortable as possible by meeting you with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I work with adults experiencing trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship challenges, addiction, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, burnout, compassion fatigue, workplace stress, moral injury, and major life transitions. I also have experience supporting first responders, healthcare professionals, refugees, immigrants, and individuals navigating complex cultural or identity-related concerns.
I believe that every person's story is unique. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I take the time to understand your experiences, relationships, strengths, values, and the factors that have shaped your life. Together, we identify meaningful goals and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
My work is grounded in evidence-based practice while remaining flexible and collaborative. Depending on your goals, I may integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, and other trauma-informed approaches. I believe therapy should be both insightful and practical, helping you better understand yourself while providing tools that can be applied in everyday life.
I have experience supporting clients with:
- Trauma and PTSD
- Complex and childhood trauma
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression and low mood
- Stress and burnout
- Grief and loss
- ADHD
- Addiction and substance use concerns
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Relationship challenges
- Self-esteem and identity concerns
- Workplace stress and compassion fatigue
- First responder mental health
- Refugee and immigrant adjustment
- Cross-cultural concerns
- Major life transitions
One aspect of my practice that clients often appreciate is that I bring both professional training and lived experience to the therapeutic relationship. As someone who experienced war, displacement, and rebuilding life in a new country, I understand that trauma, uncertainty, loss, and resilience can profoundly shape a person's life. While every client's experience is unique, these experiences have strengthened my empathy and deepened my appreciation for the courage it takes to seek support.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working with vulnerable populations, newcomers, individuals living with mental health and addiction challenges, and people facing significant life adversity. Those experiences continue to influence my work today, reminding me to approach every client with humility, cultural sensitivity, and genuine respect.
I believe that healing happens through a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. Whether you know exactly what you want to work on or simply know that something doesn't feel right, we can explore your concerns together at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
My approach is active, compassionate, and collaborative. I do more than listen—I ask thoughtful questions, help you recognize patterns, teach practical coping strategies, and support you in making meaningful changes that extend beyond our sessions. My goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and confidence in your ability to navigate life's challenges.
I welcome adults from all backgrounds, cultures, identities, and walks of life. I am committed to creating an inclusive environment where every client feels respected, heard, and valued. Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, career stress, or significant life changes, I will work alongside you with professionalism, evidence-based care, and compassion.
I provide secure online counselling to clients across the jurisdictions where I am authorized to practise, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your home.
If you are considering therapy, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can work toward healing from the past, managing the present more effectively, and building the future you want for yourself.
