Practice Information

“I like how you help me see myself as powerful and capable,” and “I didn’t know counselling could be like this,” are reflections I’ve heard from clients over the years, and they capture the kind of counselling relationship I strive to create.

My approach is genuine, compassionate, collaborative, and at times lighthearted, helping clients feel both supported and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges. I work with individuals of all ages who may be struggling with anxiety, trauma, stress, self-esteem, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, emotional overwhelm, and questions surrounding identity, belonging, and connection.

I use evidence-based therapies including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, EMDR, and EFT, and I continue to pursue advanced training to ensure I am offering current, effective, and meaningful approaches to care.

My 30 years in the helping profession — including experience as a First Responder, Hospital Crisis Clinician, and Private Practice Therapist — have given me deep respect for the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity people have for healing and growth, even during difficult seasons of life. I also have a particular understanding of the unique stressors experienced by first responders, healthcare workers, and helping professionals.

As someone who is adopted myself, I also appreciate the complexity that can exist around identity, attachment, belonging, family relationships, and life narrative, and I bring that understanding into my work with care and sensitivity.

I genuinely love the work I do and feel honoured to walk alongside clients as they reconnect with their strengths, move through challenges, and create meaningful change in their lives.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you. Please feel free to call or text me to book an appointment or inquire further.

I am an approved provider for the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), Veterans Affairs Canada, RCMP Medavie Blue Cross, and First Nations Health Authority. Through more than 20 years of experience as an emergency first responder, along with my work as a hospital crisis clinician, I have developed extensive experience supporting individuals impacted by trauma and other challenging life experiences.

I also have a particular understanding of the unique stressors and experiences faced by first responders, helping professionals, and individuals navigating adoption-related issues, identity, attachment, and belonging.

I am both a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Registered Social Worker (RSW), and many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for these professional designations.
