About Geoff
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor with 35 years of experience in providing therapy and support to individuals, groups, and workplaces. Finding balance and purpose in the world may seem stressful at times. With me as your guide, you will identify your unique challenges and strengths, enabling you to live life to your greatest potential.
While completing research with cancer patients during the M.A. program, I developed a strong interest in helping individuals and families cope with the stress of illness, and focused on reducing anxiety and finding meaning in life.
I specialize in providing support to caregivers as well as to individuals who are coping with illness and end-of-life care, as well as comprehensive grief and bereavement support.
I also have a keen interest in promoting well-being through talk therapy, mindfulness practice and the reduction of anxiety for various life circumstance and transition.
I compassionately affirm sexual and gender diversity and provide support to individuals and families seeking a greater understanding and integration of self in the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
I bring a holistic approach to Psychotherapy, acknowledging the spiritual aspect of each unique path. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for all change and growth. I embrace a humanistic, person-centered approach that may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based, emotion-focused and positive Psychology.
Geoff is an author and contributor to articles appearing in The St. Catharines Standard, the Bereavement Ontario Network, and Psychologica, the newsletter for the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.
