Practice Information

For the past fifteen years, Emily Ehrhart has provided counselling services to diverse populations in various treatment settings. She has extensive experience treating anxiety, climate anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship conflicts, trauma, and stress caused by life transitions.

As a therapist, Emily strives to understand clients' unique needs and strengths. She values her clients’ perspectives and believes their self-awareness is essential to future change. The therapeutic relationship Emily has with clients is foundational to her work as a therapist and in many ways guides the counselling process.

Emily often uses psychodynamic therapy, which involves exploring past experiences, as well as current conflicts, to identify patterns and recurring struggles. Her work also draws on existential therapy and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) to support clients in identifying values and establishing fulfillment. With these modalities of therapy, Emily helps clients develop insight, process complex emotions, establish healthy thought patterns, and make desired changes.

Central to Emily’s therapeutic approach is the belief that her clients have the potential to change and progress towards a healthier version of self. As your therapist, Emily will support you to better understand your struggles and strengths, identify changes that feel authentic, and establish greater wellness.

Currently, Emily offers therapy to adults online.

In addition to providing traditional talk-therapy, Emily offers nature-based therapy, which involves exploring how our connections to the natural world establish greater presence, mindfulness, and self-awareness. Emily also offers instruction in meditation, mindfulness and yoga therapy. If you would like to do nature-based work or yoga therapy in person, sessions will be available on Salt Spring Island starting in May 2026.
