My name is Virginia and I am a Registered Social Worker and Therapist. I work with individuals over the age of 18 who may be struggling with trauma, anxiety, existential questions, life transitions, grief, and other challenges that can make feeling at home in their own skin and trusting their own voice difficult. Together, we will work to empower you to process and better understand and manage deep emotions, celebrate success, and cultivate a life with more moments of peace and play. Therapy is a space of discovery and connection. Discovery of how and why certain patterns of being and thinking started and how small shifts and exploration can offer insight and support change. Connection with your authentic self, your desires and values. So, come as you are. Anxious. Excited. Messy. Sad. Confused. Tired. Changing. There is nothing you can’t be and can’t feel in our sessions together.
I believe in a holistic approach to healing, as therapy is not one-size-fits-all. This means I offer a variety of approaches and interventions based on my clients’ life experiences, needs, strengths, and goals. This includes bringing a systems lens to all my work, as I understand how powerful individual and social narratives and systems are in shaping our experiences and identities. Together we will work to cultivate deeper understandings of how these systems impact your life and explore how to use your existing strengths and other supports to navigate these systems and barriers in ways that feel authentic and safe. My job is to help create a space where it is possible for you to be yourself in the fullest sense – even if you don’t quite know who that is yet. A space that gives you the safety you need to share your deepest thoughts and fears and dreams and goals. I’m here to listen, to support you, and to prompt you to challenge your own inner voice at times. You know, the one that tells you that you are not enough, that you are broken, that you have to be “perfect” to be worthy. Because here’s the secret: we are all worthy and lovable, and we all deserve safety, contentment, and joy.
Change is possible. It may not be easy, but none of us are doomed to stay in stuck places and patterns. If how you live, act, and react no longer serves you, it may take work but you can find new ways of coping and relating to yourself and others that can build your capacity to believe in your inherent worth and support your vision and goals for your life.
