Hello, I’m Rayen, a Secwépemc First Nations woman with mixed European ancestry. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Social Worker with over two decades of experience in the social service sector.
My practice is rooted in the belief that every person’s journey is unique, and I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful space where clients feel valued and understood. My practice is centred around providing therapy for individuals and couples, focusing on strengthening relationships, addressing personal issues, and empowering clients to navigate their challenges with confidence and resilience. My approach is holistic, considering the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of well-being, and is grounded in evidence-based and person-centred therapeutic modalities.
In my work, I draw from diverse therapeutic approaches to ensure that the support is tailored to each client’s needs. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients re-frame negative thought patterns, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to foster acceptance and commitment to personal values, and Narrative Therapy to explore and re-author the stories clients tell about their lives. I also incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to cultivate present-moment awareness and emotional regulation and Polyvagal Therapy to help clients understand and manage their nervous system responses.
My personal experiences enrich my compassionate and practical approach to counselling. I understand the complexities of cultural and identity concerns and am committed to providing support that honours each client’s unique background and experiences. Whether you’re seeking to manage anxiety, overcome depression, explore gender identity and sexuality, or improve communication and intimacy in your relationships, I am here to help.
I am currently accepting new clients for both in-office and online counselling sessions. My services are accessible to a broad range of individuals, and I offer direct billing for those covered by Medavie/Pacific Blue Cross, Greenshield, ICBC, FNHA, and many Employee Assistance programs.
