I have been a psychotherapist with specialized training to work with children and families over 24 years. I work together with parents to help them understand their children’s perceptions and meet their children’s unique needs. I facilitate parent-child interactions that promote positive attachment and strengthen parent-child relationship. As an CAMFT & Play Therapy Approved Supervisor, I also provide individual and group supervision. I practice/supervise based on theories that explain human behaviors and research that inform effective therapy. The theories that have influenced my practice the most are Satir Change Model and Attachment theory. With research showing effectiveness of Mindfulness, I incorporate mindfulness practices and play therapy in my work with children and adults. The recent development in various aspects of brain research also inform my practice in helping children and families. With my extensive background in supporting loving parents to their children (aged 2-19) who suffered social, emotional and behavioral problems I help them to understand the “messages” underneath the presenting problems and support families to restore the healthy functioning they need. In the past 9 years, I focus on using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to support individual, couple, and family to build a lasting and connecting relationship with self and others. I also completed level 2 of the PACT model developed by Dr. Stan Tatkin to incorporate the developmental neuroscience & arousal regulation in the couple work.
