Life can be very challenging. Challenges can come across in our lives in various forms such as grief, stress, work place issues, family issues, personal issues, and past trauma. Are you facing any of these challenges? Are you experiencing low self-esteem? Are you trying to move forward in life however are not able to or simply feel stuck? I approach counselling from a non-judgmental and collaborative stance. My goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment where it's safe to explore personal challenges. I help facilitate a conversation that deepens your understanding of yourself and how you perceive the world.
We will examine what's been going on for you and brainstorm how to make long-lasting changes. I work with a wide variety of topics, including anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, self-esteem and mood disorders. I use integrative approach and utilize tools from evidence-based models such as CBT, Emotional Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

I immigrated to Canada from South East Asia more than 15 years ago therefore I can resonate with emotional challenges and struggles faced by immigrants while trying to settle down in Canada. Since I have lived in Canada for many years and grew up within the South Asian culture, I am well versed with both eastern and western culture meaning I can resonate with inter-cultural challenges faced by individuals while trying to find a place in cultural indentity. I have a good understanding of intragenerational conflict therefore I can resonate with individuals facing challenges due to genaration gaps. I have personally experienced challenges while studying full time and working full time therefore I am well versed with emotional challenges an individual would encounter during life transitions.
Professionally, I have provided individual counselling to clients from diverse ethnocultural background dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, problem solving, procrastination, self-assertiveness, problem solving, cognitive reframing, life transitions, grief, and anger management. As mentioned previously, I believe in building and maintaining positive relationships and rapport with clients through supportive, empathic listening and by creating a safe place for my clients to explore their personal challenges.
