Dear clients,
I am sending you my warmest greetings as you take this incredible step of showing up for yourself here. Life could be unbearable and confusing at times. I believe that the complexity of life is sometimes beyond words, but never beyond love and the desire to connect with ourselves. It is my hope to meet you and honor your life stories with compassion, love, and a true desire to listen. I look forward to going on this amazing journey with you, one in which we explore the peace, love, and light within you through developing practical ways of healing that suit you the most.
I provide trauma-informed talk therapy, EMDR, and art therapy. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive and gender-affirming services to people with diverse backgrounds. My counselling approach is person-centered and strength-based. I am trained in multiple modalities and dedicated to meet you where you are at.
I have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy from Adler University. I am a registered clinical counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, a Professional Art Therapist with Canadian Art Therapy Association, and also an EMDR-trained therapist (completed EMDRIA-Approved Training). I supported people in a variety of settings, including private practice, residential treatment centers, and non-profit organizations. I am skilled in providing evidence-based treatments, such as EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. I support people struggling with complex mental health challenges, including PTSD, multiple mental health diagnoses, complex grief, depression, anxiety, family issues, addiction, violence, and other chronic health issues, etc. In the past two and half years, I provided bereavement art therapy and counselling services at Burnaby Hospice Society. I worked with clients that were referred by RCMP, social workers, and psychiatrists, and provided services to a diverse group of clients from different cultural, and religious backgrounds.
If you are interested in art therapy, you do not need to have any prior experience or training in art. I could provide step-by-step guidance to help you release the deepest feelings that are beyond words and discover your own authentic creative expression.
As a multilingual speaker, I can provide counselling/ art therapy in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. If you do not speak any of the above-mentioned languages, I also have experience working with an interpreter in my sessions.
Please don’t hesitate to send me a message and schedule a free consultation session with me. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
Have a wonderful day. Sending peace, love, and light to you.
Warmly,
Violet
