Everybody needs some extra support at times to work through the problems, hurdles, challenges, and chaos that we find ourselves experiencing. I have a strong interest in working with adults who are experiencing relationship breakdown of all sorts, including issues related to addiction, the effects of addiction, infidelity, difficult childhoods, dysfunctional families of origin, and the impact of past hurts and coping patterns. I also welcome the opportunity to work with individuals who are struggling with mental health concerns, including symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and burnout.
Relationships are a crucial component of health & happiness, and my passion involves helping people develop better connections with others as well as with themselves. Counselling can provide you with a safe space to explore your thoughts and emotions while creating a deeper understanding of who you are, what you need, and the dynamics that you're navigating.
Whether you've received therapy before or this is the first time you're considering it, I believe that everyone has the ability to grow, heal, and feel better. Moving from chaos to balance can happen, and I'm here to provide assistance and support.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), and provide counselling services by video and phone to adults across BC.
My trauma-informed theoretical framework is anchored in Internal Family Systems (IFS), while integrating the attachment principles and relational lens of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Both of these methodologies are evidence-based and have been demonstrated to be effective with a variety of situations and symptoms.
I am also registered as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (Candidate) and Certified Couples Betrayal Recovery Therapist (Candidate) with the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). These programs have provided me with specialized training, strategies, and tools to support and rebuild relationships that have been shaken by infidelity, problematic sexual behaviors, complex trauma, mistrust, and addiction.
Counselling services are covered under many extended benefit programs; please check with your benefit provider to see whether you have coverage for our sessions. I'm also an approved Mental Health Provider with FNHA, MNBC, CVAP, and ICBC.
