I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, located in downtown Vancouver, and work with empaths, deep feelers, or highly sensitive people with a history of trauma who are ready to dive deep and unburden themselves from their past.
Therapists often have a reputation as experts who will fix your problems. This might come as a surprise but I don’t see the problem as located within you at all. I believe no one I meet is ever the problem. In therapy, I collaborate with you while we explore the problems you face and uncover all that is preferred which may have been pushed away or silenced but not destroyed. Problems, especially where there may be shame, try and sever us from our connection with ourselves, which in turn alters our relationship with others, the world and beyond.
Common reasons people come to work with me are:
trauma – learning to feel a sense of safety in the body, and reconnecting with everything you are besides your trauma
anxiety - moving past overthinking and over-analyzing towards developing new neural pathways that invite presence
depression – unpacking and exploring it to reduce its power, while moving beyond numbness or stuckness
boundaries – establishing clear boundaries while maintaining compassion and conserving energy
relationships – dating, moving past a breakup or strengthening a current relationship in ways that connect to your values and preferred choices
spiritual exploration – discovering meaning and integrating spiritual experiences into your daily life
In our work, I see you as the expert of your own experience. I support you to reconnect with your intuition, so you can uncover your own resources, and start a new chapter in your life. I draw from my education in Clinical Psychology (MSc) , which also led me to narrative and somatic therapy, two perspectives I draw upon heavily in my work. This means, I really believe in working with the body and our stories as a root to change. My approach is relational, client-centered, and adaptable. I view my role as a way of being that requires lifelong learning. It’s a true privilege to support people along their healing path, while bearing witness to the power of our innate capacities to transform, which resides in every single one of us.
It’s not so easy being a human these days and yet there’s often an expectation that we should be able to “push through it” on our own. I think courage lies in addressing our emotional, mental and spiritual needs by seeking support. If my words resonate, I so look forward to hearing from you.
