Jon is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Marriage and Family Therapist holding a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trinity Western University with a focus on evidence-based treatment methods.
He works in collaboration with his clients to find the best method to address problems. His therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients successfully overcome personal life challenges. He integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, he works with each individual to help build on strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Jon adopts a caring, client-centered, collaborative approach to counselling which he believes allows people the safety to discover new, adaptive and resilient ways of being. Through your work with Jon, he will help you develop your self-awareness, (re)discover your personal resources, and improve your sense of effectiveness and well being in your life.
Jon works with individuals, couples, and families to explore and overcome issues underlying distress and discomfort in their lives and interpersonal relationships. He earned his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trinity Western University and pursued specialized training in Neurofeedack, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Advanced). Jon helps people who have been traumatized, including those involved in ICBC cases. He is also registered to see clients who have been victims of crime through the BC Crime Victim’s Assistance Program. Jon’s diverse training and background contribute to his evidence-based approach to therapy. He integrates brain-based approaches, psychotherapy, and a systemic perspective to create a holistic counselling experience.
