I am the founder of Ash Tree Counselling, and believe in the importance of building a relationship for healing to begin and sustain. Part of my personal on-going relational healing is re-connecting to my ancestral history and traditions, which includes the Gaedhealtachd from Scotland. This informs my relationship with the land, family, whiteness and unpacking it, and spiritual well-being.
As we build a relationship within the container of counselling, it is from this place that we can explore the gifts and wounds you carry. This is a co-created process, and together we will explore and strengthen the relationship you have with yourself using acceptance, compassion, mindfulness, and skills for managing emotions. Furthermore, this can be a place to explore boundaries, communication, and relationships.
I am a queer white settler, trained in inter-generational trauma and bring to the process experiences of working with youth, adults, couples. The experiences I have worked with, and some personally experienced are:
-inter-generational trauma
-grief and loss
- FNHA vendor
-coping strategies/self soothing/substance use
-anxiety/depression
-queer identity, sexuality, and relationships
-relationships and conflict
-unpacking whiteness and white supremacy within your lineage and in society
-(re) connecting with ancestral traditions that support your wellbeing
-abuse (including childhood sexual abuse)
-highly sensitive people (HSP)
