Please note that during this surreal time of COVID-19 I am now offering virtual counselling by phone or video as well as in-person counselling starting June 5th, 2020. Many clients have found virtual counselling just as effective as in-person counselling. I welcome you to give it a try!
Are you living the life you want? Are you feeling sad, angry, anxious, or scared? Are you stuck, sleepless, or just tired of it all? Are you recovering from a trauma or loss, struggling in relationships, and trying to find your way forward? When emotional, mental, or physical symptoms are holding you back, there is hope.
Jennifer is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Social Worker with an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy/Counselling Psychology with 25 years experience in the field of mental health. She sees clients at her offices in Yaletown and is registered with the Crime Victims Assistance Program.
Jennifer is successful at empowering children, adolescents, adults of all ages, couples and families to transform major life challenges into opportunities for change, growth, and connection. You can expect confidential, collaborative, compassionate, and professional services that empower you to make your own life decisions based on your values.
Key areas of Jennifer's private practice include trauma, PTSD, abuse, addictions and aftercare, depression, anxiety, sleep disturbance, couple/relationship issues, grief & loss, personality disorders, life transitions, stress & burn-out, eldercare, and women's issues.
With her mind-body and cognitive approaches to counselling, Jennifer helps her clients access their own (often hidden) resources to promote healing and transformation in their journey towards wholeness, authenticity, and genuine positive relationships.
Your body, mind, and emotions are interdependent and work together as a whole. Bringing these elements together with a creative and sustainable mind-body approach, we find our true balance and move forward with a sense of renewed purpose and integration.
Drawing from her ongoing studies in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Bodynamics, Cognitive-behavioral therapy, Bader-Pearson Model for Couples Therapy, Emotion Focussed Therapy for Couples, and Dance/Movement Therapy, she adapts her approach to meet the needs of individual clients.
While relationships are often at the core of life challenges, they are also an important agent of change. Thus a caring, non-judgmental and compassionate therapeutic relationship is an essential component of Jennifer’s counselling style.
