My name is Graham (he/him). I'm a registered clinical counsellor (RCC #19364) with the BCACC. I work with adults and adolescents. My private practice is based out of Squamish BC, the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Squamish First Nation. I offer online video call counselling and in-person counselling either in-office or as a walk-and-talk in and around Squamish.
I work with individuals and folks in relationships (romantic, platonic, or professional) facing a broad range of challenges. I specialize in supporting clients struggling with the legacy of trauma and those with relationship concerns. I also work with individuals struggling with systemic issues, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and distressing emotions. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected in some aspect of your life, these are all things we can work on together in counselling.
Central to my approach to counselling is the belief that you, the client, are the expert on your experience and that my role as a counsellor is to support you in re-authoring the stories and patterns that shape your experience of the world; to find different ways of understanding, relating, and doing things that support you in your goals and align with your values. This could be noticing and shifting how you relate to parts of yourself, others, power dynamics, cultural beliefs, or systemic forces; working on sexual and emotional intimacy in your relationships; identifying and navigating needs, boundaries, and conflict; communicating more effectively; integrating trauma and relational injury; connecting with your emotional experience, noticing and changing your patterns; or connecting with yourself and others differently than you do now.
Our work together can help alleviate your suffering and support you in leading a more, connected, empowered, and intentional life where you consciously create the kinds of experiences and relationships you desire. In session we'll explore and experiment with different ways of relating to, and engaging with, yourself, others, and the world around you.
To struggle is to be human and it’s okay to need support. Sometimes we get stuck in patterns that don’t serve us or our relationships. Together we can work to find ways of being and relating that ease your suffering and help you lead a life that's authentic and meaningful to you. I look forward to beginning our work together.
