I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors, and the founder and clinical director of Bliss Therapeutic Services.
I am oft heard saying that “there is no right way to do counselling in that it looks like whatever it needs to for whomever takes part in it at that moment.” I feel honoured that individuals invite me on their journey towards a place of greater well-being – whatever that may be for them. I have a warm, engaging, and professional demeanour that helps clients feel at ease, supported, and able to embrace the delicate balance between risk, hope, and trust.
I utilize an integrated approach to counselling, including Systemic, Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioural, Narrative, and Dialectical Behavioural theories. Basically, the “whatever it takes” philosophy in meeting clients where they are at, and helping them move towards their goals in a meaningful way. My approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and goal-oriented - essentially acting as a resource for positive change in my client’s lives.
Although I have a diverse degree of experience, I have extensive familiarity and additional training in depression, anxiety, relational and family distress, stress, self-esteem, and mood and personality disorders. In addition to my private practice with adults, couples, and families, I also work for Child and Youth Mental Health for the Province of B.C., regularly present workshops in the community, and am a contributing mental health and wellness writer for the local paper The Chilliwack Progress.
To meet the financial needs of my clients from all walks of life I am able to offer reduced rates upon request. I also offer Outreach Therapy for any individual clients, couples, or families who prefer sessions to take place in the comfort of their own home, those who require the services of an on-call therapist, or in the case where an advocate is needed to work on your behalf.
Client fee individuals:$125.00 for a 60 minute session
Client fee couples/families:$150.00 for a 60 minute session or $175.00 for a 90 minute session
