ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME.
Do you feel alone? Do you have anxious thoughts that overtake you? Do you feel sad, depressed or unmotivated? Do you ever feel like you’re not “good enough” or that you need to be smarter, more attractive, more accomplished or more liked. Maybe you feel like your job, home, family or relationship status isn’t what it “should” be. Or perhaps you look like you have it together, but really you feel like a mess inside.
We receive so many messages about what life should look like. We compare ourselves to highlight reels that only show the “best” moments. But life is messy. Our lives each contain moments of great joy and sorrow, pain and pleasure, opportunity and obstacle. And regardless of where you find yourself in this complex web of life, counselling can help and support you on a path of greater ease and strength.
Together we can explore challenges and look at how our thoughts, feelings, and experiences have contributed to the stories we believe and narratives that dictate what life should look like. I’ve been there firsthand and know that there is balance between self-improvement and self-acceptance. My hope is to create a space where it is possible for you to explore the experiences which have shaped your emotional responses and empower you to identify who and how you want to be. Together we will harness your current strengths and resource you with new skills and abilities so that you can navigate life with more confidence.
I am a trauma-informed clinician with a person-centered approach. I use a variety of approaches such as IFS (Infernal Family Systems), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Motivational Interviewing, to name a few, but I believe there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to counselling. I listen to understand and will consider the contexts that contribute to your world views, experiences, and identity; this includes the way you were raised, your cultural context, your beliefs and more. A foundational philosophy of my practice is to maintain an active commitment to social and racial justice on an individual, community, and institutional level. I aspire to be a life-long learner who aims to provide mental health services that are culturally sensitive.
Whether you’re loud or quiet, proud or ashamed, excited or fearful, cautious or brave, you are welcome here. Regardless of what you’re feeling, you are invited to show up as you are and you will be met with care and kindness. I invite you to book a free 20-consultation. I look forward to getting to know you and hearing your story.
