ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Do you feel alone? Do you have anxious thoughts that overtake you? Maybe you feel like you're not "good enough" or that your job, home, family, or relationship status isn't what it "should" be.
We receive so many messages about what life should look like. We compare ourselves to highlight reels that only show the "best" moments. But life is messy. Our lives each contain moments of great joy and sorrow, pain and pleasure, opportunity, and obstacle. And regardless of where you find yourself in this complex web of life, counselling can help and support you on a path of greater ease and strength.
My hope is to create a space where it is possible for you to explore the experiences which have shaped your emotional responses and empower you to identify who and how you want to be. Together we will harness your current strengths and resource you with new skills and abilities so that you can navigate life with more confidence.
I am a trauma-informed clinician with a person-centered approach. I use a variety of approaches such as AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Motivational Interviewing, to name a few, but I believe there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to counselling. I listen to understand and will consider the contexts that contribute to your world views, experiences, and identity; this includes the way you were raised, your cultural context, your beliefs and more.
It can be nerve wracking to reach out to a counsellor – it takes courage to seek support, and bravery to share with someone new. Although it may be challenging it can also be an opportunity for connection, understanding, and growth. I invite you to book a free 20-consultation to see if we're a good fit and promise you will be met with care and kindness. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
