Debbie Day has a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Debbie is a Registered Clinical counselor (1519) with BC Association of Clinical Counselors. She has 20 years experience working with individuals, couples, teens, and families. Debbie’s clinical experience has been in private practice, Employee Assistance Programs, and with Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services.
Debbie is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming (EMDR-Level I & II), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Satir Systemic Brief Therapy-Level I, Trauma, Addictions, and Grief and Loss.
Debbie offers a combination of therapeutic approaches including talk therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, humanistic, solution focused, stress reduction, visualization/mindfulness/meditation, as well as EMDR for traumatic incident reduction, and DBT for emotional regulation and distress tolerance.
Debbie is committed to ongoing professional development to ensure the client's experience of counseling is results oriented, positive and safe. She encourages clients to become aware of blocking beliefs that deter from achievement of their life goals. Counseling can assist individuals, couples, and families find a more harmonious and holistic balance within themselves and in their relationships with others.
