Through a diverse and rewarding career in counselling, youth work, and special education, I've supported hundreds of clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, and clients with ADD/ADHD and ASD/Autism, parents of complex children, and families. I also support clients experiencing difficulties with work, school, or home.
Hi, I'm Alisa (she/her) founder of Growing Minds Counselling, I'm glad you're here! Therapy at Growing Minds is all about you. My goal is to explore the very thing that brings you here today safely, confidentially, and without judgment. From our first session, I will support you with action steps to help you better cope, find relief, get unstuck, and move forward. Through a solution-focused approach, we will visualize how life could look if you were better able to cope and find relief, and the steps we can take to get you there.
I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #22768) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC #11246472) with an MA in Counselling Psychology with Distinction, a BA in Child and Youth Care, and a Diploma in Community Support Work. Therapy at Growing Minds aims to be neuro-diverse affirming, trauma-informed, culturally-safe, and stigma-free. Through a shared understanding of who you are and the steps you want to take, I will draw from various evidence-based counselling modalities, customizing therapy just for you. My clients often see a reduction in unwanted symptoms and an increase in their overall wellness and mental wellness.
I bring humility and a deep respect for the trust and courage it takes for you to be here. Through lived experience, I understand how hard the next step of reaching out can be. Therapy is all about feeling connected in a space that feels safe enough to truly talk about what matters most to you. If it feels like our connection might be right for you, join me for a 20-minute complimentary consultation.
Together, let's begin your journey. Let's take the next step towards taking care of you so you can begin to live your best life.
