Practice Information
My private practice, True North Interventions, specializes in supporting individuals, couples, and families impacted by substance use, addiction, trauma, and relationship challenges. I work from a compassionate, evidence-informed, and trauma-informed perspective that recognizes people do not exist in isolation—our experiences, relationships, and nervous systems all influence our wellbeing.
With over 15 years of experience in the addiction and mental health field, I have worked across the continuum of care in residential treatment, outpatient services, intervention, family programming, and private practice. While I support a broad range of mental health concerns, I have a particular passion for helping families navigate the confusion, grief, and chronic stress that often accompany a loved one's substance use. Rather than focusing solely on changing the identified individual, I help clients understand how family systems adapt to crisis and how meaningful change can begin with the people who are seeking support today.
My therapeutic approach integrates attachment theory, family systems, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation. I tailor treatment to each client's unique goals, drawing on practical strategies alongside deeper exploration of the patterns that contribute to distress.
Clients often describe my style as warm, collaborative, and direct. I strive to create a space where people feel understood without judgment while also feeling supported to make meaningful and lasting changes. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, addiction, family conflict, or the emotional impact of loving someone with a substance use disorder, my goal is to help you build greater clarity, resilience, and confidence in moving forward.
